Acceptable forms of payment include personal check (personal checks will not be accepted within 30 days of your arrival date), credit card, money order or cashier’s check. Accepted credit cards include Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover. Please be sure that your reservation number is on any remittance so that we can be sure your payment is accounted for correctly. We do not accept wire transfers. RETURNED CHECKS – There will be a return check fee of $40. Returned checks must be replaced with certified funds or a credit card payment within 7 days.
ONCE THE DEPOSIT HAS BEEN RECEIVED, NO REFUNDS OR ALTERATIONS CAN BE MADE ON A RESERVATION. GUESTS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE TO PROTECT THEMSELVES AND THEIR TRAVELING COMPANIONS. PLEASE CONTACT THE TRAVEL INSURANCE COMPANY OF YOUR CHOICE FOR COVERAGE DETAILS.
Travel insurance is being offered by Rental Guardian, Redsky Insurance, or any company of your choice. To reach Rental Guardian you can go to the website lachicotte.rentalguardian.com or call (888) 885-5550 –OR– Redsky Insurance (866) 889-740 –OR– SunTripPreserver.com. Renter must sign the opt out insurance form if you do not intend to purchase travel insurance.
Check out time is 10:00 a.m. Please place all rented bath and bed linen in each room for the cleaning crew, leave mattress pads, pillow covers and bedspreads on bed, put dishes — including pots and pans — in the dishwasher and turn it on, being careful not to overload it. Do not leave food in dishes within the refrigerator. If you have extra food that you think the maids might use, please leave it in the refrigerator. Dispose of all bait for fishing or crabbing. Remove all garbage from every room and take it to the appropriate outside containers. Clean up any trash from under the house and dock areas, including broken beach chairs, toys and fishing or crabbing equipment. Check for all your personal belongings.
Absolutely NO grills are allowed on porches, decks, balconies, or under the houses. Grills may be used only at a safe distance from the vacation rental.
All of our properties have fully equipped kitchens, all beds have mattress pads, pillows and bed spreads. You will need to bring: Paper products including paper towels & toilet paper, Condiments, Cleaning Supplies, Beach towels, Laundry detergent, Soap & Shampoo.
All mail and messages will be held for you at the front desk at The Lachicotte Company. If you are having mail sent to you, please be sure to tell the sender to include your name & rental unit number on the envelope. Mail sent via US Postal Service should be sent to 10554 Ocean Hwy., Pawleys Island, SC 29585. It is your responsibility to check for any correspondence. If using UPS or Fed-Ex, they can deliver directly to the address of the home or condo you are staying in.
All rental unit owners have selected to designate their units as no-smoking units. Guests of the unit violating that request will cause the entire party to be evicted with no refund. Should traces of smoke be detected by our cleaning/inspecting personnel, there will be a $500 Fee charged to the renter. Smoking includes all kinds of lighted material to be inhaled, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, etc.
Our beaches are serviced by an automated trash pick-up system. Renter must place all trash within the large cans at the renter’s unit the night before each pick-up day. Trash not placed in these cans will not be picked up.
The loggerhead sea turtle is South Carolina’s state reptile. This reptile is protected by state and federal laws. From May 1 to October 31, these sea turtles come to nest on our beaches. During this time it is strongly suggested that beachfront lights are turned off after 10:00 pm to avoid disturbing the nesting process.
Fireplaces will be shut down and unavailable for use from June 1 through November 1.
Many owners have personal belongings locked in a closet for their convenience. These areas are off-limits to renters and are not part of the rental agreement.
In the event the vacation home you are renting is on the market for sale, you will be informed of potential showings with next-day notification. These showings may occur any day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. While the showings are necessary and mandatory, we will try our best not to cause you and your party any inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
This agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with laws of the State of South Carolina. This agreement shall be treated as though it were executed in the county of Georgetown, State of South Carolina, and were to have been performed in the county of Georgetown, State of South Carolina. Any action relating to the agreement shall only be instituted and prosecuted in courts in Georgetown County, South Carolina. Lessee/Tenant specifically consents to such jurisdiction and to extraterritorial service of process.
